Future Plans

The school has purchased a piece of land in the close vicinity of the existing building for its new block for Intermediate classes. It involves an expenditure of Rs. 85 lacs. May Allah help us accomplish this Himalayan task soon. Amen!

With the completion of the new block some rooms will be spared in the existing building enabling us to accommodate more classes for girls and run 9th and 10th classes for them, too.

Our goal is to provide girls education at least up to Intermediate level.
The school has been gifted a large piece of land about one km from the present premises by Sister Bilqees Zafar, a retired senior education officer. Jazakallah. The school is contemplating to open a degree college for boys. May Allah fulfill our dreams.

The Intermediate section will comprise of well equipped science labs - one each for Physics, Chemistry and Biology, besides a full-fledged library, a separate computer lab for Intermediate classes and a meeting hall. Work on this project was started in 2004 and is near completion. We have been granted Rs195000.00 from Maulana Azad Education Foundation, Ministry of Human Resource and Social Justice, Government of India, New Delhi- a trust formed for the social and educational upliftment of the minorities through financial assistance.

Sponsorship

Realising the gravity of the situation, the school at the behest of Br Er. Haji Irfanullah (now Patron of the school) introduced “Sponsorship Scheme” for poor and talented students.

Initially the idea was put forth by Dr S. M. Tarique a renowned Orthopedic Surgeon and son-in-law of Dr S. Riyasat Ali (Retd CMO). He not only conceived it but also made initial contribution to this scheme. He also donated printed Sponsorship Forms to be sent along with the appeal to the prospective sponsors. May Allah (swt) reward him in both the worlds. Amen! Jazaklllah.

Under this scheme poor students of not only this school but also of some other schools, as,
AIFSO Junior High School Arwawan are sponsored. Generous persons from our society who trust us and recognize the need of education and also want to support these poor and downtrodden children contribute to this scheme. Through their contributions the expenses on the education of such children are met. May Allah (swt) reward all those bountifully who contribute in this noble cause. Amen!

Besides,
Students Adoption Scheme is also run by the school. Under this scheme poor but highly talented students are adapted till the completion of their education. They are supported and encouraged to pursue and gain higher professional education in medicine, engineering and technology etc.

Generous persons can donate through their Zakat, Charity etc. under these schemes and help us accomplish our goal of
“Education for All” a materialised dream.

Kindly send your DDs favouring -

POOR STUDENTS FUND DARSGAH-E-ISLAMI, FAIZABAD.

Thanks.

Methodology

We follow the play- way method of teaching. In this method the child is at the focal point. Individual attention is paid to all the students. Their individual differences, interests, aptitude and instincts are taken into account and given due respect.

The school is equipped with sufficient teaching aids- some conventional such as charts, models, maps and some modern such as Internet, Computer, TV, VCR and a handsome number of educational Audio-visual CDs/Cassettes.

Remedial extra classes for week students are organised regularly. Besides, the school regularly organises teachers’ training camps/refresher courses for keeping them abreast of the latest trends and techniques of teaching.

We would like to draw your special attention to our methodology of teaching the Holy Qur’an (Nazira), which is radically different from the traditional system of teaching Nazira adopted by madarsas . We make extensive use of black board in teaching Holy Qur’an. All the basic rules essentials for reciting Holy Qur’an correctly with Tajweed are explained visually using blackboard. No cramming of words is encouraged. Instead, ability to read the Qur’an is developed by teaching a few small surahs only. After that child is able to read the Qur’an without any problem. Of course, speed comes through practice and not by just learning rules and few examples. For practice, they are given sufficient lessons from the Qur’an itself. Whosoever has seen this method of teaching, live, has admired and appreciated it. Many other schools have also imitated this methodology.

Though to some extent we also believe in “Spare the rod and spoil the child” yet we have spared the rod but to others utter disbelief and astonishment we haven’t spoiled the child. We have only spared the rod, not the child, who always remains in our constant vigil and guidance and wherever and whenever he slips, we are there to hold and guide him to the right path.

Our Goal

1. To impart qualitative religious and scientific education. To emphasize on the correct teaching of Qur’an Nazira.

2. To impart teaching in an Islamic environment to the students and to arm them with the basic and most essential knowledge of Islam so that they can live in accordance with the Islamic Shariah, which is a must for their Nijat in the akhirah. Besides, to adorn them with the pearls of Islamic moral and spiritual values to make them perfect men. Thus, empowering them to serve the community and the society by making them an honest, responsible and ideal citizen whom the posterity would cherish.

3. To teach Arabic as a living and modern language to enable students to read, write and speak Arabic without any hesitation and difficulty. Thus they would be able to comprehend most of the Islamic literature directly. The knowledge of Arabic would make comprehending the holy Qur’an an easy and practicable task.

History

Realising the need and importance of education some well wishers of Muslim Ummah at Faizabad conceived of establishing such a school which would impart both religious and scientific education to the students. Thus in 1952 (late) Haji Muhammad Basheer owner of renowned Star Bakery and (late) Muhammad Is’haque (Alig.) laid the foundation of the school of their dream at Moghalpura in a clay tiled-roofed room and a small verandah.

InitiaBRlly the number of students was not more than a few score. In 1960, a young, dynamic and dedicated-to the cause of education-person, now a highly revered and venerated personality of the city, Hafiz Abdul Hafeez ( presently Nazim-e-Darsgah) joined this school. His continuous struggle against all odds, his personal sufferings and sacrifices for the cause of the school, his painstaking efforts to raise the teaching standard and to transform it in the most modern institution of the city culminated in what we see today in the form this school.

(Late) Haji Muhammad Rafeeq , the younger brother of (late) Haji Muhammad Basheer purchased a piece of land in Moghalpura Mohallah for the school. Their contributions to the construction of the building can never be ignored. May Allah (swt) reward them bountifully in Akhirat and give them Ajr-e- Azeem. Amen!

The construction work of the existing building was taken up in April 1990 and by grace of Allah (swt) and through donations from the generous persons two three-storeyed-blocks were completed by the end of 1994.

Now there are 36 classrooms, a Principal’s Room, an office, a minuscule but rich library and a small computer lab equipped with scanner, printers and Internet facility.

About Us

The school is an example of fine amalgamation of spiritual and moral values of Islam with the fast changing scientific and modern world and aims at bringing about an all round development of the students. Unlike most other public schools mushrooming at Faizabad, profiteering has never been its motive. The founders of the school have established it with a missionary spirit. It caters to the needs of the educationally backward, poor and downtrodden sections of the society- especially the Muslims.

At present the school imparts education upto High School and is recognised by the U P Board of High School and Intermediate Education, Allahabad. The recognition has been granted in the year 2000-01. There is co-education up to 5th Standard but from 6th standard onwards girls are taught by lady teachers in a separate block exclusive for girls. Due to shortage of classrooms and in the absence of any scope of further extension in the existing building the teaching of girls has to cease after 8th standard. Despite our best efforts, arrangement for girls education beyond standard 8th could not be made so far.

We follow the syllabus of U P Government from class First onwards. Besides this teaching of Holy Qur’an, Basic Islamic Fiq’h, LifeHistory of Prophet Muhammad ( P.B.U.H. ), Khulafa-e-Rashideen etc. is imparted with a view to providing the students basic Islamic knowledge inculcating moral and spiritual values among them. The school finally aims at preparing the students to live according to the Islamic teachings and be successful in both their worlds i.e. Duniya and Akhirah.
